The Chief Executive Officer of Erisco Foods Limited, Eric Umeofia, has declared that he will not withdraw the ongoing legal case against social media user Chioma Okoli, who he accuses of attempting to damage his company’s reputation.

Okoli has faced trial over an online post she made about one of the company’s tomato paste products, which sparked widespread debate across the country. Despite reports that she lost her pregnancy amid the controversy, Okoli has continued to appear in court for the hearings.

Umeofia, however, maintained that the case must proceed to its logical conclusion, insisting that no individual should be allowed to malign a company’s image without accountability.

The matter, which has drawn national attention and divided public opinion, continues to raise questions about freedom of expression, corporate reputation, and the limits of social media criticism in Nigeria.
