A 32-year-old man, Anthony Williams, has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder following a violent stabbing incident aboard a train in Cambridgeshire on Saturday evening.

Williams, of Langford Road, Peterborough, faces 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm (ABH), and one count of possessing a bladed weapon in connection with the attack at Huntingdon Station on November 1.

According to a statement released by the British Transport Police (BTP) on Monday, Williams has also been charged with an additional count of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article linked to a separate incident at Pontoon Dock DLR Station in east London, which occurred the same day.

He is expected to appear before the Peterborough Magistrates’ Court this morning, November 3.

Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy said that supporting the victims and advancing the criminal investigation remain top priorities for the BTP. “Our investigation is also examining other potentially related offences,” he added, cautioning the public against sharing information that could compromise ongoing legal proceedings or the integrity of the case.

The police have not disclosed details about the victims but confirmed that 10 people were injured—nine critically—when the attack occurred on a London-bound train traveling from Doncaster to King’s Cross. The train was forced to halt at Huntingdon Station, where officers arrested two suspects.

Counter-terrorism officers are assisting the investigation as enquiries continue.
