The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Aliyu (SAN), will deliver a keynote address on cybersecurity and illicit financial flows in Nigeria during the Realnews 13th Anniversary Lecture scheduled for November 19, 2025, in Lagos.
According to the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Realnews, Maureen Chigbo, the lecture, themed “Cybersecurity, Illicit Financial Flows and Achieving Agenda 2063 in Africa,” will bring together thought leaders to discuss strategies for strengthening Africa’s economic and digital resilience. She revealed that Dr. Aliyu confirmed his participation earlier in March 2025 and reaffirmed his attendance in October, stating, “I will attend by God’s grace.”
Appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on October 17, 2023, Aliyu is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Jigawa State, where he implemented justice sector reforms and championed anti-corruption initiatives. His leadership at the ICPC has been defined by integrity, adherence to the rule of law, and global best practices, earning him respect both locally and internationally.
The event will be chaired by former Lagos State Chief Judge and ex-Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, Hon. Justice Ayotunde Phillips, who will also moderate the panel session. The Realnews Anniversary Lecture Series, known for its intellectual depth and national relevance, has previously featured notable figures such as Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, Boss Mustapha, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, and Prof. Charles Soludo.
