Akwa Ibom Governor Fires Two Aides for Defying Directive on PDP Convention

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has dismissed two of his political aides for attending the recent PDP convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State. Their participation in the event reportedly went against the governor’s clear instructions.

The affected aides are Joseph Jacob Ikpak, who served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Services, and Felix Ekuri, the Special Assistant on Neighbourhood Watch. Both officials were relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

According to government sources, the governor viewed their actions as a breach of loyalty and a disregard for established administrative procedures. The decision underscores his resolve to maintain discipline within his team.

Governor Eno’s move is seen as part of broader efforts to ensure that members of his administration align with official directives and uphold the standards expected of public officeholders.
