Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has officially opened the Abia–Türkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to turning the state’s economic potential into tangible growth. Speaking at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, Otti said the three-day summit—guided by the theme “Prosperity Through Partnership”—was designed to link local business leaders with international partners and expand Abia’s presence in regional and global markets.

The governor urged investors to take advantage of Abia’s expanding economic landscape, highlighting the state’s skilled workforce, dependable electricity supply in Aba, improved road networks, and peaceful environment. He encouraged participants to engage with local communities, explore agricultural value-chain opportunities across LGAs, and liaise with the Commissioner for Agriculture to identify areas primed for investment. Otti assured that his administration is fully committed to supporting investors and enabling their success.

Representing the Turkish Embassy, Commercial Councillor Erdal Faitah Tozoghu reaffirmed Türkiye’s dedication to strengthening its business ties with Abia. He expressed optimism that the summit would become an annual tradition, emphasizing mutual trust, respect, and shared ambition as the foundation of the partnership. Other partners, including Vega Growing Global Enterprise executives Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni and Abiodun Aderohunmu, praised the governor’s reforms and described Abia as a rising investment destination in the South East.

Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Dr. Salome Obiukwu, described the summit as a strategic step toward boosting economic cooperation between Abia and Türkiye. Earlier, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Investment Promotion and PPP, High Chief Jerome Green-Amakwe, noted that the summit showcases Abia’s transformation over the past two years and positions the state for global visibility. The event drew numerous dignitaries, with Governor Otti touring exhibition stands that displayed a wide range of products from participating businesses.
