The newly constituted governing board of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, has announced a comprehensive plan to reposition the health facility through wide-ranging technological and infrastructural upgrades.

Speaking at the board’s inauguration, Chairman Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka revealed that the hospital will transition to a full Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to digitise patient services, improve billing processes, enhance outpatient efficiency, and support better clinical decision-making with modern IT tools.

According to the board, the first phase of the transformation—under its “Reimagining, Rebuilding and Repositioning” agenda—will focus on refurbishing major sections of the hospital, upgrading the Intensive Care Unit and dialysis centre, acquiring advanced diagnostic equipment, and activating CT scan services. Plans also include building staff accommodation and fully staffing the Nursing College.

The initiative equally prioritises staff welfare and long-term sustainability, building on recent commitments for improved funding and salaries to curb industrial actions and ensure uninterrupted health service delivery.
