Senator Sunday Marshall Katung of Kaduna South has provided much-needed relief materials to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Southern Kaduna, a region grappling with insecurity that has uprooted numerous families.

Beyond aid for displaced families, the senator also delivered essential items to rural health centres, including mattresses, mosquito nets, and blankets, aimed at improving patient care and living conditions at these facilities.

At the distribution event, Katung’s Chief of Staff, Aku Joshua-Shai, highlighted the senator’s commitment to easing the hardships faced by affected households and assisting communities in recovering from attacks.

The senator urged collaboration among government agencies, community leaders, and civil society to promote peace and development in Southern Kaduna, emphasizing that long-term stability is key to economic growth and improved wellbeing.

Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation for the senator’s intervention, noting that the support would enhance both household welfare and healthcare services. The relief items included cooking pots, stoves, towels, buckets, soap, detergents, mats, blankets, and mosquito nets.
