Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State says President Bola Tinubu’s sweeping reforms and infrastructure push are the main reason several PDP governors are flocking to the APC. Speaking during a thank‑you tour of the four Akoko LGAs, he highlighted the ongoing dualisation of the Ikare‑Akungba road as proof that Tinubu’s agenda is delivering real development.

Aiyedatiwa also revealed that his 2024 gubernatorial rival, Agboola Ajayi, has agreed to join the APC, though a formal announcement is still pending. He urged party members to keep the peace, stressing that any internal disputes will be settled through dialogue rather than conflict.

The governor’s remarks come amid a broader wave of defections, with other PDP heavyweights also signaling a shift to the ruling party. Party leaders are rallying supporters to back Tinubu’s 2027 re‑election bid, framing the defections as a vote of confidence in the president’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

Aiyedatiwa’s tour included the commissioning of utility vehicles for traditional rulers and a bus for local government workers, further underscoring the administration’s focus on grassroots engagement and infrastructure delivery.
