Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has formally approved the ₦515.5 billion 2026 Appropriation and Finance Bills, signing them into law after legislative adjustments by the state assembly.

The fiscal plan, labelled the “Budget of Economic Growth and Infrastructural Transformation,” aims to deepen ongoing reforms and boost investments across key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and job creation, with the goal of improving livelihoods throughout the state.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Buni thanked lawmakers for their cooperation, noting that the approved budget now provides the legal basis for implementing government policies and programmes designed to benefit Yobe residents.

The House of Assembly made slight changes to the original proposal, trimming it from ₦515.583 billion to ₦515.532 billion. Under the revised plan, about 62% (₦291.9 billion) is earmarked for capital projects, while the remaining 38% (₦223.6 billion) will cover recurrent costs.

Governor Buni reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and strict budget discipline, pledging that implementation will be carefully monitored by key state ministries and agencies to ensure effective delivery of services.
