Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Borno State have publicly appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State to put aside their differences, embrace internal unity, and reaffirm their loyalty to Nyesom Wike, whom they describe as the party’s true leader.
At a press briefing in Maiduguri, the group’s chairman, Grema Kyari, lauded Wike for his unwavering commitment to discipline, constitutionalism, and institutional integrity, saying these qualities have been crucial in steering the party through ongoing internal challenges.
Kyari accused Makinde, Mohammed, and their allies of deepening the PDP’s internal crisis and urged them to “sheath their swords” in the interest of unity and collective strength ahead of future political battles. He reiterated that Wike’s role in strengthening and repositioning the PDP is widely recognised by members nationwide.
The elders also praised the PDP leadership in Borno, reaffirming the legitimacy of the current party executives and calling on former state officials to hand over documents and assets to the newly formed Borno State PDP Working Caretaker Committee, warning that resistance to this directive could face legal action.
