“Otti’s Re-Election Is Certain” — Amobi Ogah Dismisses Ex-Governors’ Moves, Says Abia North Will Deliver Big in 2027

Political tensions have risen in Abia State following reports of a private meeting involving former governors and their allies at the residence of ex-Governor Theodore Orji. Reacting sharply, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, who represents Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, has condemned what he described as attempts by entrenched political interests to undermine the will of the Abia electorate.

Ogah insisted that Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s return for a second term is inevitable, stressing that neither political scheming nor elite alliances can derail what he called a people-driven mandate.

According to the lawmaker, decisions about Abia’s future cannot be made behind closed doors by former leaders disconnected from the realities on ground. He maintained that true political power rests with the people and, ultimately, with God.

Ogah challenged those opposed to the current administration to brace for the 2027 elections, noting that the governor’s record in office since 2023 has already earned him widespread public approval across the state.

He assured Governor Otti of overwhelming support from Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Government Areas, declaring that Abia North would deliver even more votes for the governor in 2027 than it did during the last general election.

The federal legislator pointed to visible improvements in governance, including the payment of salaries and pensions, infrastructure renewal, and institutional reforms, as evidence that Abians have embraced a new direction.

Ogah further warned that efforts to revive the political order associated with unpaid salaries, abandoned projects, and economic decline would face strong resistance from progressive forces across the state.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, the growing clash between supporters of Governor Otti and elements of the old political establishment signals an intensifying struggle over Abia State’s political future.
