The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially released the final list of candidates and their running mates for the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, paving the way for political campaigns to formally begin.
The confirmed list features contenders from several parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party, Accord Party, African Democratic Congress, Action Democratic Party, and others, along with their respective deputy candidates.
A major development in the publication is the absence of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede. The PDP has criticised the omission and has reportedly taken legal action to challenge INEC’s decision.
The release of the final candidate list marks a critical step in the electoral process, allowing voters and political stakeholders to prepare for the upcoming Ekiti governorship election.
