The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has welcomed the appointment of Comrade Dunijir Gatama as Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, describing it as a positive step toward increasing youth participation in leadership and governance.

In a statement issued on Monday and signed by Comrade Muazu Hina, Director of Security and Liaison of the NANS Senate, the association said the appointment reflects confidence in Gatama’s long-standing involvement in activism and grassroots mobilisation.

According to the student body, the move comes at a critical time when the contributions of young Nigerians are needed to drive national development. NANS noted that Gatama’s background in student unionism and youth advocacy positions him well to contribute meaningfully in his new role.

The association expressed optimism that his leadership would strengthen the City Boy Movement and expand political awareness among young people. It also urged students and youths across the country to support initiatives that promote inclusive leadership, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
