The Umuahia Non-Indigenes Forum has intensified calls on Prince Obinna Ejebi to take up a more decisive leadership role in Umuahia Central State Constituency, insisting that the constituency can no longer afford to ignore his capacity, influence, and track record of service.

At a well-attended gathering in Umuahia, members of the forum openly expressed frustration over what they described as years of ineffective representation and stalled development in the constituency. The group stated that while the 2027 elections are still some distance away, the time has come to begin “serious conversations” about who can genuinely change the narrative.

In unusually firm language, the forum said Prince Obinna Ejebi is being persistently called upon by residents from different backgrounds to answer what it described as a “collective demand for rescue leadership.” According to the group, his success as a businessman, combined with his long-standing philanthropic interventions and political experience, places him in a unique position to restore confidence and deliver meaningful representation.

“Prince Obinna Ejebi has done more without holding office than many who currently occupy positions of power,” a forum leader said. “When someone consistently shows capacity, compassion, and commitment to the people, the people have the right to insist that he steps forward.”

The forum noted that Ejebi’s support for vulnerable groups, youth development, and local businesses has cut across ethnic and indigene-settler lines, making him a unifying figure within Umuahia Central. Members stressed that their appeal is not a formal campaign call but a strong moral pressure urging him not to turn his back on the growing public expectation.

They added that the silence of credible leaders at critical moments often worsens political stagnation, warning that Umuahia Central needs decisive intervention rather than passive observation. “This is no longer about ambition,” another speaker remarked. “It is about responsibility.”

While Prince Ejebi has not publicly responded to the mounting calls, the forum maintained that its position reflects the mood of many residents who believe the constituency needs urgent redirection driven by competence, integrity, and inclusive leadership.

As discussions about 2027 gradually gain momentum, the forceful appeal from the Umuahia Non-Indigenes Forum signals a rising pressure on Prince Obinna Ejebi to heed what supporters now describe as an unavoidable call to serve.
