The Labour Party faction aligned with Abia State Governor Alex Otti has dismissed efforts by former national chairman Julius Abure to overturn recent court judgments that removed him from party leadership.
In separate statements, the groups warned that any attempt by Abure to appeal the rulings would be unsuccessful and could drag the party into prolonged legal battles ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Otti‑aligned faction, including the party’s interim leadership, said continuing to challenge the court decisions would distract from preparations for future elections and weaken the party’s unity and effectiveness.
Officials urged all party members to focus on reconciliation and working together to strengthen the Labour Party rather than pursuing court actions they described as unlikely to succeed.
