The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that it is set to inaugurate a South West chairman.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the reports are false and did not originate from the party. He warned the public to treat such claims as fake news.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has not appointed any South West Chairman. Furthermore, the ADC is not inaugurating any South West Chairman at this time,” the statement read.

Abdullahi stressed that the party’s official communications come solely from its publicity department and verified channels. He urged those spreading the false information to desist immediately.

The ADC’s clarification comes after media reports suggested that the new opposition party had scheduled an inauguration for its South West leader, a claim the party says is entirely unfounded.
