The Commissioner of Police in Abia State has directed all officers to maintain high standards of behaviour both on and off duty. He stressed that professionalism and discipline are essential, noting that how officers present themselves online reflects on the entire force.

In a formal directive, the commissioner warned against posting inappropriate content on social media, emphasizing that such actions can damage public trust and tarnish the police service’s reputation.

He also addressed unprofessional conduct, including public drunkenness, making it clear that such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Officers were reminded that they must always uphold the values expected of them.

This call for higher standards is part of ongoing efforts to improve the image of the police and strengthen relations with the community. Maintaining professionalism, the commissioner said, is key to earning and retaining public confidence.
