Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, the member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has paid a condolence visit to the family of Elder Mathew Simon following the tragic death of their son, Mr. Uche Simon.
The lawmaker visited the bereaved family on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to express his sympathy over what was described as a shocking and senseless act of violence.
Reports indicate that Uche Simon was murdered after an attack by yet-to-be-identified assailants at about 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Johnson strongly condemned the killing, describing it as a horrific act that has left the family and the wider community in deep grief.
“Uche’s life was cut short in a senseless act of violence, leaving behind a grieving family and community,” he said. “We must come together to condemn this heinous act and demand justice for Uche.”
The legislator offered prayers for strength and comfort for the parents, siblings, and relatives of the deceased.
Hon. Johnson also commended the efforts of the Divisional Police Officer in Isuikwuato and other security personnel working to track down those responsible for the crime.
He assured residents of Isuikwuato that he would support security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.
“I will do everything in my power to support the efforts of the security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served in line with the rule of law,” he stated.
The lawmaker urged members of the Nkwonta community to remain calm and cooperate fully with security operatives, stressing the importance of unity in resisting violence across the local government area.
The statement ended with a call for Ndi Isuikwuato to remain united and resilient in the face of security challenges.
Until his untimely death, Uche Simon was described as a young and promising businessman and electrical technician from Nkwonta, Oguduaasa community, in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
