The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to backing naval and other security agencies operating in the Niger Delta, emphasizing that peace is essential for regional growth. Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the NDDC, assured officers of continued cooperation during a recent meeting with the Flag Officer Commanding of the Central Naval Command and his team at the Commission’s Port Harcourt headquarters.
Dr. Ogbuku highlighted that sustainable development in the Niger Delta cannot be achieved without a secure environment. He noted that insecurity often hampers economic growth and the wellbeing of local communities, and pledged that the NDDC will continue to support security agencies in protecting critical national assets and fostering stability.
The Nigerian Navy representatives praised the Commission’s role in the development of the region, pointing to infrastructure projects and other initiatives that have positively impacted local communities. They stressed the importance of continued collaboration to ensure lasting peace and improve operational efficiency across the Niger Delta.
The NDDC’s renewed support is aimed at creating an environment where security, economic progress, and investment can thrive together, ensuring that both residents and businesses in the region benefit from stability and development.
