Nollywood Actor Claims Assault and Robbery by Police After Returning to Nigeria

Nigerian actor and social media comedian Ganiyu Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has alleged that he was beaten and robbed by police officers in Lagos shortly after returning from the United Kingdom.

In a video shared on social media, the entertainer appeared with injuries near his eyes as bystanders tried to assist him. He said the officers also took his iPhone 16 Pro Max and $1,200 that belonged to his brother.

Ijoba Lande claimed the incident occurred during an encounter with officers from the Area “J” Division of the Lagos State Police Command. He stated that he was physically assaulted and had his belongings seized, though he did not specify the exact location.

The video has circulated widely online, drawing reactions from fans and netizens. Many have called for accountability, urging him to report the incident to the appropriate police oversight authorities.

So far, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official response to the actor’s claims.
