Security operatives in Anambra State have arrested three individuals after a targeted raid uncovered a firearm and suspected hard drugs at a roadside motel in Idemili North Local Government Area.
The operation was carried out by officers from a tactical police unit following intelligence reports pointing to illegal activities at the facility. During a search of the premises, officers recovered a pump-action shotgun loaded with live ammunition, along with quantities of substances believed to be narcotics.
One of those arrested is believed to be the proprietor of the motel, while the two others were found at the location during the sweep. Preliminary questioning reportedly linked the suspects to possession of the recovered items.
Police authorities said investigations are continuing and indicated that the suspects will be charged after the inquiry is completed. They also encouraged residents to keep sharing timely information to help curb criminal activities in the area.
