Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has called on Nigerians to unite in making the 2027 general elections free, fair, and transparent. Speaking at the launch of “Operation Rescue Nigeria,” he urged citizens to look beyond political differences and focus on restoring public confidence in the democratic process.

Obi emphasised the importance of real-time electronic transmission of election results to ensure votes are counted accurately and openly. He said that getting the 2027 elections right is crucial to rebuilding trust in governance and securing the country’s future.

The former Anambra State governor also criticised the current administration over rising national debt, warning that future generations could be burdened by loans taken today. He pledged that, if elected, his leadership would prioritise investments in education and healthcare, tackle poverty, and take a strong stand against corruption.

Supporters of Obi’s movement have begun early mobilisation for the upcoming election, focusing on grassroots organisation and voter education. They stressed that the 2027 polls represent not just a political contest but an opportunity to shape Nigeria’s direction for years to come.
