Nigeria concluded its outing at the African Badminton Championships with two bronze medals after reaching the semifinal stages in multiple categories.

One of the medals came from the mixed doubles event, where the Nigerian pair advanced through tough early rounds before falling short in the semifinals against higher-ranked opponents. Their run into the final four automatically secured a podium finish.

The national women’s side also delivered a strong performance in the team category, battling through group and knockout rounds to reach the last four, where their title hopes ended but earned them another bronze.

Coaches described the overall result as encouraging, noting that several players reached advanced rounds and showed signs of progress against some of Africa’s top badminton nations. Officials say attention will now shift to further training and international exposure ahead of upcoming competitions.
