Key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Ikwuano have unanimously endorsed Sam Onuigbo as the political leader of the party in the area, following a high-level meeting attended by ward executives, party elders, and youth representatives.
The gathering, held after weeks of consultations, was described by attendees as a unity meeting aimed at strengthening party structure and resolving lingering internal divisions. Speakers at the event praised Onuigbo’s experience and long-standing involvement in grassroots mobilization, saying his leadership would help reposition the party ahead of future elections.
Several ward coordinators noted that the endorsement reflects broad-based confidence in his ability to coordinate party activities, mentor emerging politicians, and attract development-focused partnerships to the locality. They added that the decision was reached through consensus rather than factional alignment.
In his remarks, Onuigbo thanked party members for the trust placed in him and pledged to promote inclusiveness, reconciliation, and strategic growth. He called on members to remain united and focused on expanding the party’s reach across all communities in the council area.
