Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has received a public endorsement from the Ekiti chapter of the Yoruba socio‑cultural group Afenifere, ahead of the June governorship election.
During a meeting with Afenifere leaders in Ado‑Ekiti, Oyebanji thanked President Bola Tinubu for federal support on key road construction and rehabilitation projects across the state, noting that these initiatives would improve connectivity and stimulate local economic growth.
The governor highlighted several important works, including new highway stretches and improved links to neighbouring regions, emphasizing that these developments reflect ongoing progress in Ekiti and the South‑West.
In response, Afenifere reaffirmed its support for Oyebanji’s re‑election bid and pledged backing for President Tinubu’s administration. The group also distanced itself from a rival faction claiming to represent it, describing that group as unauthorised.
