The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has called on the public to assist in locating a woman identified as Mirabel, following a viral video in which she alleged that she was sexually assaulted.

The video, which began circulating widely on Monday, showed Mirabel recounting an incident she said occurred on Sunday, February 15, 2026. In her post shared on TikTok, she alleged that she was assaulted by a man who later sent her a message allegedly bragging about the act.

According to her account, she said she had consumed alcohol before going to bed due to insomnia and slept around 6:00 a.m. She claimed that at about 9:00 a.m., she heard knocks on her door and assumed it was her neighbour. She alleged that she was suddenly pushed, hit her head on a refrigerator and lost consciousness.

Mirabel further claimed that she later regained consciousness with a piece of cloth in her mouth and was crying for help, believing someone might hear her. She said her neighbours were reportedly away at church at the time.

She added that after about 20 minutes, she became fully conscious and noticed she was bleeding, initially thinking it was her menstrual flow.

A screenshot of a message she shared online, allegedly sent by a person identified as “Priston” with the handle @priston186, appeared to show the sender boasting that he would face no consequences because his father was wealthy.

In response, the DSVA said it had begun efforts to reach the alleged survivor to provide necessary support and intervention.

In a statement, the agency said it was actively working to establish contact and ascertain her location.

“We want to state clearly that we have seen the reports and we are actively making efforts to reach the survivor to offer immediate support and appropriate intervention and ascertain the location. Our team has initiated contact through available channels and will continue efforts to establish communication,” the agency stated.

The DSVA appealed to anyone with credible information that could help them reach her safely to contact the agency through its official social media platforms.

Reaffirming the state government’s position, the agency emphasised that Lagos maintains a zero-tolerance stance against domestic and sexual violence.

“Sexual assault is a crime, and every survivor deserves protection, care, support and justice. We encourage survivors to speak up and assure the public that reports are treated with utmost confidentiality and urgency,” the statement added.
