Nollywood actress Roseline Meurer has spoken candidly about her marriage to businessman Olakunle Churchill, revealing that it was his character and personality—not his physical appearance—that attracted her to him.

During a live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, Meurer addressed lingering questions about her relationship with Churchill and speculation surrounding his former marriage to actress Tonto Dikeh.

According to Meurer, her initial connection with Churchill was not romantic. She explained that at the time they became close, she was focused on building her career and simply enjoying life.

“His character and personality is what I got drawn to, not him,” she said. “Maybe he liked me—am I not fine? But he never told me he liked me. I was focused on my career then. I was just using him to enjoy life.”

She also responded to previous remarks in which she described Churchill as “not her type.” Meurer clarified that while she did not initially see him as someone she would marry, her opinion evolved over time.

“His physical look then wasn’t like now. He is now an Odogwu. Back then, his stomach was flat. It’s not that he wasn’t handsome, but he wasn’t someone I would immediately say I wanted to marry. At that time, I was looking to marry someone my age,” she said.

On comments she previously made regarding the age difference between herself and Churchill’s ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh, Meurer insisted she never intended to shame anyone. She described her earlier statement as a rough estimate and emphasised that ageing is a blessing.

“When I said she was about seven to eight years older than me, I wasn’t trying to age-shame anyone. Growing old is grace. It’s something everyone should wish for,” she noted.

Meurer also dismissed rumours that she recently unfollowed Churchill on Instagram after he was seen spending time with Dikeh and their son, King Andre. She denied the claims and reaffirmed her commitment to her marriage.

Addressing long-standing speculation that she was once friends with Dikeh before marrying Churchill, Meurer firmly denied ever having a personal relationship with her.

“I was never my husband’s ex’s friend, not to talk of best friend. I have never met her, never had her contact, and she never introduced me to my husband,” she said.

Roseline Meurer, born Rosaline Ufuoma Meurer, is a Gambian-born Nigerian actress and producer. The 34-year-old is married to Olakunle Churchill, and the couple share two children.
