Former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has expressed strong approval of Governor Alex Otti’s performance in Abia State, highlighting the governor’s commitment to improving citizens’ lives through strategic policies and reforms.

During a visit to Otti’s office in Umuahia — which coincided with the governor’s birthday — Osinbajo applauded what he described as people‑centred leadership that is delivering real results for the state.

Osinbajo singled out Otti’s social welfare measures, especially the enactment of a Senior Citizens’ Law, saying the initiative reflects compassion and responsibility toward vulnerable residents. He also noted the ongoing road rehabilitation and connectivity work as visible evidence of effective governance.

Commenting on the role of leadership, Osinbajo said that while many leaders promise change, Otti’s administration has not only met expectations but gone beyond them, making “public service worthwhile.”

Governor Otti thanked Osinbajo for the visit, describing him as a mentor and friend. He clarified that the gathering was not a formal birthday celebration but a modest acknowledgment of the day, stressing his focus on service over pomp. The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising welfare, safety, and peace of mind for residents across Abia State.
