Atiku Abubakar Slams Bola Tinubu’s Govt Over Alleged Attack on Opposition Leaders

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the federal government and the ruling All Progressives Congress following a reported violent disruption involving key opposition figures in Edo State.

Atiku condemned the incident, which reportedly targeted members of the African Democratic Congress, including prominent politicians such as Peter Obi and John Oyegun. He described the development as a threat to democratic principles and political freedom.

According to him, such acts of violence against opposition gatherings undermine the country’s democratic space and raise concerns about the safety of political actors ahead of future elections.

He urged security agencies to act impartially and bring those responsible to justice, stressing that no group should be intimidated or prevented from participating in lawful political activities.

Atiku also called on the government to ensure that all political parties operate in an environment free from fear, warning that continued unrest could weaken public confidence in the nation’s democratic institutions.
