Obasanjo, Jonathan to Open New Worship Centre at National Assembly

Former Nigerian presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, are billed to inaugurate a newly constructed Christian chapel within the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

The dedication ceremony, set for March 1, will mark the official unveiling of the facility, which has a seating capacity of about 750 people. The chapel is intended to serve as a place of worship for Christian lawmakers and staff within the legislative arm of government.

According to organisers, the event is expected to draw attendance from top government officials, clergy members, and other notable personalities. The chapel is designed as a non-denominational space to encourage spiritual growth, unity, and reflection among members of the Assembly.

The project was initiated to provide a convenient and dedicated environment for Christian worship within the National Assembly premises, highlighting the role of faith in public service.
