Ebonyi Governor Suspends Two Commissioners Over Dereliction of Duty

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State on Saturday announced the indefinite suspension of two commissioners for dereliction of duty. The affected officials are the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Mbam, and the Commissioner for Infrastructure Development, Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara.

The directive, contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, instructed the commissioners to immediately hand over all government properties, including official vehicles, to the Secretary to the State Government.

“Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, FCAI, GGCEHF, has approved the indefinite suspension from office of Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, Hon. Commissioner for Works, and Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, Hon. Commissioner for Infrastructure Development for Concession, for dereliction of duty,” the statement read.

The suspended commissioners are expected to comply with the handover of all government assets without delay.
