Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has reassured residents of the Sankera region that peace will be restored following recent violence in the area. During a visit to the region, Governor Alia promised the people that his administration would prioritize security and work tirelessly to end the unrest that has plagued the communities in recent months.

Sankera, a group of local government areas in Benue State, has faced escalating violence linked to clashes between farmers and herders, as well as other criminal activities. The situation has left many locals displaced, prompting a call for urgent action from both state and federal authorities.

Governor Alia stated that his government was committed to ensuring the safety of all residents, unveiling plans for increased security patrols and dialogue with community leaders to address the root causes of the conflict. He emphasized that cooperation between the state government, local authorities, and security forces would be crucial in achieving lasting peace.

While the residents expressed cautious optimism, they also urged the governor to act swiftly to ensure the return of stability, as ongoing violence has disrupted daily life and led to significant loss of livelihood in the region.
