The Labour Party in Abia State has rolled out a new digital system to update and manage its membership records, aiming to modernize party operations and enhance compliance with electoral laws.
The platform, designed by the party’s ICT unit, is set to go live on Monday, March 9, 2026. Party officials said it will streamline the registration process, improve data accuracy, and make it easier to track members across the state.
Ahead of the official launch, all ward chairmen have been instructed to collect updated information from registered members. The data gathering includes personal details such as full name, gender, date of birth, address, state of origin, local government area, ward, polling unit, National Identification Number, and a passport photograph.
The party emphasized that accurate records are essential to meet the requirements of Nigeria’s Electoral Act and avoid penalties. Leaders urged members, union representatives, and stakeholders to cooperate fully and complete the exercise before the upcoming deadline. Meetings at the ward and union levels have been recommended to ensure timely submission of information.
This initiative is part of Labour Party’s broader effort to strengthen its internal systems, improve transparency, and maintain readiness for upcoming elections. Members seeking clarification have been advised to reach out to their local ward or union leaders.
