The United States government has issued a fresh advisory to its citizens in Nigeria, warning of heightened security risks across certain regions. The alert emphasizes the need for Americans to remain cautious and stay informed about potential dangers in their surroundings.

The embassy advised that facilities connected to the U.S., including diplomatic missions and institutions affiliated with Americans, could be potential targets. Citizens were urged to adopt safety measures such as varying daily routines, avoiding crowded areas, and staying alert while traveling.

The notice also stressed the importance of monitoring local news and following instructions from Nigerian authorities to reduce exposure to possible threats.

This advisory comes amid growing concerns over security challenges in parts of Nigeria, as authorities work to address criminal and extremist activities that continue to affect residents and foreign nationals.
