The Abia State Government has stepped up efforts to revive key manufacturing facilities as renovation activities continue at the Enyimba Garment Factory and the ENASCO complex in Aba. The inspection of the projects was carried out by the Commissioner for Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, Mazi Michael Enyinnaya Akpara, who visited the sites to assess the progress of the ongoing upgrades.
During the visit, the commissioner, accompanied by senior officials from the ministry, reviewed the extent of structural rehabilitation and modernization taking place within the industrial facilities. The projects form part of the state administration’s broader plan to reactivate dormant government-owned industries and strengthen local production capacity.
Akpara explained that restoring the two facilities would play a vital role in boosting manufacturing activities and creating employment opportunities for residents. He noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s strategy to encourage industrial growth, support small businesses, and stimulate economic development across the state.
The managing director overseeing the facilities, Nena Kalu Ogba, guided the delegation through the renovation areas and outlined the work already completed as well as ongoing phases of construction. She assured the visiting officials that the project team remained committed to completing the rehabilitation within schedule and in line with the government’s vision of transforming Abia into a major centre for manufacturing and enterprise.
