A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged party stakeholders to support the renomination of its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, ahead of the party’s national convention later this month.
Operating under the name Move Forward with Nentawe Advocates, the group praised Yilwatda’s leadership, describing his performance since assuming office as commendable.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its convener, Ezenwa A. A. Onyirimba, said the APC chairman has displayed strong leadership qualities within a short period, earning the confidence of party members.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the group appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other key figures in the party to back Yilwatda’s return, describing him as a visionary leader and experienced technocrat capable of strengthening the party.
The group expressed confidence that under his leadership, the APC would consolidate its achievements and remain well-positioned for success in the 2027 general elections.
Onyirimba also revealed that the group had begun nationwide consultations to mobilise support for Yilwatda ahead of the convention.
He maintained that the chairman has shown consistent competence and capacity, adding that his continued leadership would ensure stability within the party and boost its chances in future elections.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to unity and credible leadership within the APC, expressing optimism that Yilwatda’s renomination would further solidify the party’s progress and electoral prospects.
