Residents of Amichi in Anambra State recently benefited from a free medical outreach organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The program, held at the Pat Angelina Anyaegbu Memorial Hospital in Nnewi South Local Government Area, provided essential healthcare services to over 120 people, including the elderly, women, and children.

During the outreach, NYSC corps members offered consultations, medications, and laboratory tests, including screenings for conditions such as HIV and Hepatitis, aiming to improve overall community health.

Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, the State Coordinator of NYSC in Anambra, thanked the community for their support and praised corps members for their dedication. She noted that such health initiatives are part of NYSC’s ongoing efforts to reduce healthcare inequalities in underserved rural areas.

Local government representatives also expressed gratitude to the NYSC team, highlighting that bringing medical services directly to rural residents helps reduce travel and financial burdens. The Chief Medical Director of the hospital described the partnership with NYSC as crucial to the outreach’s success.

Overall, the initiative provided a vital opportunity for rural dwellers to access quality medical care at no cost, demonstrating the positive impact of targeted health programs in remote communities.
