Nollywood actress Toluwani George has shared how her journey into acting began unexpectedly while she was still trying to find her place in life.

In an interview with Guardian Life, the 25-year-old actress said she did not initially set out to become an actress but discovered her passion while exploring different opportunities.

“I believe in trying different things until you find your path. Acting was one of the things I tried, and it turned out to be where I truly belong,” she said.

George, whose full name is Toluwanimi Osaile, was raised and educated in Ibadan. She graduated from the University of Ibadan in 2020, where she studied Adult Education. She also described herself as biracial, with a mix of Nigerian and Lebanese heritage.

She identified her role in the Showmax series Wura as a turning point in her career. According to her, the experience confirmed her passion for acting despite the demanding nature of film production.

“Even with the long hours and tough schedule, once the camera started rolling, I was always ready. That made me realise how much I loved acting,” she said.

George noted that the experience strengthened her commitment to the profession and encouraged her to keep pushing forward.

Reflecting on her growth, she emphasised the importance of courage, even in moments of doubt.

“You don’t have to have everything figured out. Do it unsure, do it scared, just take the step,” she advised.

Speaking on her role in Wura, she described it as emotionally demanding, requiring deep vulnerability to portray a caring sister in a complex family relationship.

She also highlighted her role in the film Benefactor, saying she was drawn to the project because of its strong storyline and the opportunity to work with director Captain Degzy.

On her experience in the industry, George said she has enjoyed positive working relationships and remains focused on improving her craft. While acknowledging that her appearance sometimes draws attention, she stressed that talent and performance ultimately matter most.

“I put in the work because, at the end of the day, my performance has to speak for itself,” she said, adding that her faith keeps her grounded.

The actress admitted that managing burnout can be challenging due to her passion for acting, but she makes time to rest and reconnect with loved ones whenever necessary.

“I take breaks, spend time with family, and do things that make me happy,” she said.

George also credited her support system for helping her overcome self-doubt, noting that encouragement from loved ones keeps her focused and confident.

For her, the journey into acting has been about discovery and persistence—finding the one path that kept calling her back and choosing to follow it.
