Amid escalating violence across the country, concerned citizens and public commentators have called on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take swift and decisive steps to tackle Nigeria’s deteriorating security situation. The appeal reflects mounting frustration over frequent attacks, kidnappings, and killings affecting many regions.

The criticism was strongly voiced by activist and public affairs analyst Aisha Yesufu, who warned that the current level of insecurity has become intolerable. She stressed that Nigerians are increasingly losing confidence in the government’s ability to protect lives and property, urging authorities to treat the crisis as a national emergency rather than routine incidents.

Yesufu emphasized that continued delays or ineffective responses could deepen public suffering and further destabilize communities. According to her, the scale of violence now demands urgent reforms, improved intelligence gathering, and stronger coordination among security agencies to restore order.

Her comments come at a time when various parts of the country are experiencing repeated attacks by armed groups, bandits, and insurgents. Reports indicate that many communities remain vulnerable, with residents often left to fend for themselves in the face of persistent threats.

Security analysts have also warned that Nigeria’s challenges are becoming more complex, with overlapping threats stretching military resources thin. Recent incidents, including deadly village attacks and insurgent activities, highlight the growing pressure on authorities to adopt a more effective and long-term strategy.
