Security operatives in Anambra State have arrested a 35-year-old man over the suspected killing of his cousin in a case that remained unresolved for months.
The incident, which dates back to August 2025, was initially reported as a missing person case in Amichi, located in Nnewi South Local Government Area. For several months, there was no clear trace of the victim, leaving relatives searching for answers.
Investigators later revisited the case after receiving new intelligence, which pointed them in a different direction. This led to the arrest of the suspect, who is said to have been closely related to the deceased.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted to carrying out the act. He subsequently directed police officers to a burial site within his residential premises, where the remains were discovered and recovered.
Authorities say the body has been taken for forensic examination as part of ongoing investigations. The police have also indicated that the suspect will face prosecution once inquiries are concluded.
The command emphasized its commitment to ensuring justice and urged residents to promptly report suspicious activities to aid crime detection and prevention.
