Health Officials Warn as TB Care Falls Behind in Niger State

Health authorities in Niger State have reported a major gap in tuberculosis care, with only 8,629 patients receiving treatment out of 14,908 confirmed cases identified in recent screenings.

Officials say this highlights ongoing challenges in linking diagnosed individuals with consistent medical care and underscores the need to expand treatment access across the state.

Experts warn that untreated tuberculosis poses serious risks, not only to patients but also to the wider community, particularly in areas with limited healthcare resources.
