The Federal Government has announced a firm deadline for updating the records of federal employees as part of efforts to improve the accuracy of the public payroll and workforce data. All civil servants who have not completed the required documentation are expected to finish the process by Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
In a memo issued by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, workers who fail to meet the deadline could face administrative consequences, including possible suspension from the government payroll.
The verification process is part of the wider Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis (PASGA) initiative, which aims to confirm the identities, skills, and employment status of federal civil servants. Staff are required to complete both a personnel verification and a skills assessment.
Officials stated that the data collected will be used to address discrepancies in the workforce, ensure competence-based deployment, and improve overall service delivery across government ministries and agencies.
