Residents of Ohafia in Abia State have been informed about a planned nighttime military exercise set to take place in the coming days. The activity, organized by the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, is part of routine training designed to strengthen combat readiness.

According to an official notice from the Brigade headquarters in Ebem Ohafia, the drill will run for four consecutive nights, beginning Monday, March 30, and ending Thursday, April 2, 2026. The exercise will be conducted at the shooting range within the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks.

Military authorities explained that the operation is focused on sharpening soldiers’ performance under low-visibility conditions and boosting their effectiveness during night missions.

Members of the public have been urged not to be alarmed by the sound of gunfire during the period, as it will strictly be part of the scheduled training. For safety reasons, individuals such as hunters and other unauthorized persons have been cautioned to avoid the training area entirely.

The Army emphasized its dedication to safeguarding communities and expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation of residents. It also encouraged locals to share the information widely to prevent fear or confusion during the exercise.
