The Defence Headquarters has dismissed allegations suggesting that individuals with violent pasts are being secretly absorbed into the Nigerian armed forces.

Responding to the claims, military officials described the reports as false and misleading, stressing that strict recruitment standards remain in place. They maintained that the armed forces would not compromise national security by admitting people previously involved in criminal or terrorist activities.

According to the authorities, the military continues to uphold professionalism and integrity in its enlistment process, assuring the public that only qualified and vetted individuals are accepted into service.
