The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected allegations that it interfered in the internal affairs of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that the opposition party’s current challenges are self-inflicted.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party criticized the ADC, describing it as a group of “confused and desperate politicians” known for spreading conspiracy theories. He mocked the party’s structure and ongoing crisis, suggesting its collapse was inevitable.
Reacting to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to derecognize the ADC leadership, the APC maintained that the move was lawful and in line with a court judgment. Morka accused a faction led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola of unlawfully taking control of the party, likening their actions to a reckless political takeover.
The APC further faulted the ADC for blaming its troubles on the ruling party, calling such claims irresponsible and an attempt to deflect from its internal issues. According to Morka, a party unable to resolve its own problems cannot offer solutions for the country.
He reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the party’s focus on governance despite criticisms from the opposition.
