Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reassured residents not to be troubled by political uncertainties, declaring that power ultimately belongs to God and cannot be influenced by human efforts.

The governor made this known on Saturday during a Sabbath worship and musical concert organised by Unity Chapel at the Government House in Umuahia. The event was themed, “Worship the Lord in the Beauty of His Holiness.”

Speaking in response to a sermon by Pastor Kennedy Iheoma, who described his leadership as a divine mandate, Otti addressed concerns about opposition elements seeking to reclaim power in 2027. He insisted that there was no reason for fear.

According to him, no matter the level of human effort, only God determines who holds power. He maintained that his administration is on a divine mission and urged the people to remain calm and confident.

The governor also paid tribute to former military Vice President, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe (rtd), who attended the event, acknowledging his influence and role in his personal and professional life.

Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Iheoma, President of the Aba North Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, stressed that anyone on a divine assignment cannot be stopped by opposition. Drawing from the Bible, he encouraged the governor to remain focused, noting that challenges are part of the journey but ultimately serve a greater purpose.

He added that Otti’s leadership has positively impacted many lives, bringing hope and relief to residents, and urged him not to be discouraged by political pressures.

The worship service was attended by the governor’s wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, top government officials, and other dignitaries.
