Amid internal tensions and unresolved legal disputes, the National Executive Council of the African Democratic Congress has taken temporary charge of the party’s affairs to maintain stability.
Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Don Norman Obinna, explained that the council’s intervention is guided by constitutional provisions that allow it to act during periods of uncertainty.
He noted that the decision was necessary to avoid a power vacuum and ensure that the party’s operations continue without disruption. According to him, the interim arrangement will remain in place until the courts conclude ongoing cases affecting the party’s leadership structure.
Obinna also appealed to members and stakeholders to stay united and cooperative, emphasizing that the council’s actions are aimed at safeguarding the party’s cohesion and long-term interests.
