Victims of bandit attacks in Kebbi State have received humanitarian support following the donation of food supplies valued at N10 million by the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).

The intervention targeted communities heavily affected by insecurity, where many residents have been displaced and are struggling to meet basic needs. The agency said the gesture was part of efforts to ease hardship and provide immediate relief to those impacted by violent attacks.

Officials explained that the items were distributed across affected areas to ensure that vulnerable households, including women and children, benefit directly from the support. The donation included essential food commodities aimed at helping families cope with ongoing challenges caused by displacement and loss of livelihoods.

The commission also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting communities within its mandate, particularly those facing crises linked to insecurity and environmental issues. It stressed that such interventions are necessary to complement government efforts in addressing humanitarian needs.

Banditry has continued to disrupt several parts of Kebbi, forcing many residents to flee their homes and depend on aid for survival. Similar relief efforts by authorities and organisations have focused on providing food, cash, and other essentials to cushion the impact of the attacks on affected populations.
