A prominent chieftain of the Labour Party in Abia State, Chief Ike Enyioma Ibe, on Tuesday hosted Dr. Chima Anyaso at his country home in Amankwo Uzuakoli, Bende Local Government Area.
The visit coincided with celebrations following the Appeal Court’s ruling in favour of the Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party over Julius Abure, a judgment delivered earlier the same day.
Speaking during the meeting, Chief Ibe called for unity and stronger collaboration among party members to sustain the developmental strides of Governor Alex Otti. He stressed the importance of collective support for the governor’s administration, noting that his performance over the past 35 months has been commendable.
Chief Ibe highlighted several achievements recorded by the Otti-led government and cautioned against actions that could hinder the state’s progress. He urged Abians to remain focused and not allow themselves to be used to derail the administration’s efforts.
He further expressed confidence that granting Governor Otti a second term in 2027 would enable him to consolidate on his achievements and establish a lasting legacy of good governance in the state.
Earlier, Dr. Chima Anyaso, an aspirant for the Bende Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, explained that his visit was part of ongoing consultations with key stakeholders within the Labour Party.
Anyaso commended Chief Ibe for his dedication to the party, describing him as a dependable and loyal member, as well as a strong supporter of the Otti administration.
He also described the Appeal Court’s verdict as a victory for democracy, adding that it reinforces confidence in the leadership and direction of the Labour Party.
