Abuja, Nigeria – A group of supporters and beneficiaries of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), CON, have purchased a governorship nomination form on his behalf ahead of the 2027 elections.
The supporters, made up largely of youths, reportedly raised more than ₦60 million within two days to fund the purchase, targeting the Gombe State governorship seat.
According to organizers, the initiative began last Friday when a grassroots committee was formed to mobilize support as a show of appreciation for Pantami’s contributions to youth empowerment, digital development, and innovation during his time in public service.
The group explained that the fundraising was entirely voluntary and exceeded the ₦50 million required for the nomination form, reflecting what they described as strong backing for the former minister, whom they referred to as a respected figure from the Usmaniyya Caliphate.
Representatives of the supporters visited the party’s designated office on Wednesday to complete the formal purchase process.
They added that the swift fundraising highlights Pantami’s influence, particularly through technology and education-focused initiatives that they say have benefited many young Nigerians.
The development comes amid a growing trend in the current political cycle, where support groups are increasingly mobilizing resources to facilitate the entry of preferred candidates into electoral contests.
The Gombe State governorship race is expected to attract significant attention as more prominent aspirants emerge ahead of the 2027 elections.
